Best of the Brass

Audience favourites selected from our various programs! Join us for a journey from the splendor of the baroque into the fire of Latin dance, the comedy and tragedy of opera, the drama of life and death in the wild west and into the grand finale: a celebration of Dixieland, ragtime and swing.

"To say that our audience was enthusiastic would be an understatement. Foothills Brass not only impressed with their thoughtful artistry, but they also filled the hall with toe-tapping excitement. An all-around outstanding presentation!"

Bourbon Street to Broadway

An exciting exploration of the beginnings of jazz – from ragtime to Dixie, showtunes to swing. Audiences will be inspired by the sounds of some of the greatest jazz composers of all time, such as George Gershwin and Hoagy Carmichael, and will be tapping their toes to classic favourites like The Saints, Georgia, and other hits from the swing era.

“Foothills Brass was a great success at the Rialto Theater. The audience received a complete package with the Bourbon Street to Broadway show—excellent musicianship with humor and history injected throughout. Foothills Brass is welcome to return anytime!”

~ Kim Akeley-Charron, Rialto Theater, Loveland CO
