A (mostly) Quiet Brass Christmas, five hundred years of melody!
Many of our seasonal favourites are gentle tunes that ring effortlessly in the fine acoustics of Scarboro Church. To share the mood with us, we’ve invited Kat Hammer to join us on guitar and its Renaissance cousins the lute and theorbo.
We’ll ramble from the plainchant of O Come Emmanuel to Silent Night and the Appalachians’ I Wonder As I Wander, to quietly jazzy versions of Winter Wonderland and O Christmas Tree. There will be plenty of familiar carols, we will take requests, and you are welcome to sing along or quietly hum!
